Templug Pty Ltd is an Australian company based in Perth, Western Australia.
The Templug Building plug was invented in late 2005 by Craig Rothleitner whilst working as a Rigger on the construction of high rise buildings. It was there that Rothleitner experienced first-hand the risks and issues surrounding exposed, cracked and blocked drain, waste and vent pipes (DWV). These associated risks result in injuries to workers on site, damaged and blocked pipes and, therefore, budget blowouts. Importantly, pipe blockages often become apparent only when the owner or tenant moves into the building and uses the plumbing.
Consequently repair costs crystallise after the handover and become an irrecoverable loss for the builder.
Rothleitner created the first Templug product for the building industry to address these problems. It was during the development of this product that Rothleitner realised the Templug technology had far reaching applications. This led to the development of a range of products offering inexpensive, practical and environmentally friendly solutions for “clean, clear pipe” issues that exist in the Stormwater, Civil and Oil & Gas industries.
